Recoupon (“the app”, “we”) is a read-only analytics app for Shopify merchants. It reports the discount codes that fail at checkout so a merchant can recover lost sales. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not collect.
When a shopper enters a discount code at checkout that does not apply, our Web Pixel records the failure. For each failed attempt we store:
.myshopify.com domainWe store no customer personal data. We do not collect or retain customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, customer IDs, IP addresses, payment details, or order contents. We capture only the failed code and the cart total — never who entered it.
The data is shown only to the merchant whose store it came from, inside the app's dashboard: which codes fail, how often, the cart value at stake, likely typos, and optional email alerts. The app is read-only and never creates, edits, or deletes a store's discounts.
We do not sell or share this data. It is processed only by the infrastructure that runs the app: our hosting and database providers, and an email provider used solely to send the merchant their own alert emails. Each store's data is isolated to that store.
We honour Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks. When a store uninstalls
the app or requests redaction (shop/redact), we permanently
delete all captured events and session data for that store. Because we hold
no customer-level data, the customer data-request and customer-redact
webhooks have nothing to return or erase.
Merchants can request access to, or deletion of, their store's data at any time by uninstalling the app or contacting us. Where GDPR or similar laws apply, the merchant is the data controller and we act as a processor on their behalf.
